Camp VIVA is back! Started in 2016, Camp VIVA is a unique multi-day camp for youth ages 12 to 18 with vision loss and their siblings centered around awareness and encouragement to live life to its fullest despite all the challenges life throws our way! Camp VIVA uses adaptive recreation and sports to promote teamwork and overcoming adversity as we explore real life situations. Together with successful adults, who themselves have disabilities, campers will learn about several adaptive sports & recreational activities while also learning about self-advocacy, safety education & self-defense, healthy eating, and developing critical thinking skills. Camp VIVA is truly a culmination of everything that STRIVE4YOU fundamentally believes in as we infuse all three of our programs, our Peer-to-Peer Approach to learning & support, and our Healthy Youth Healthy Tomorrow Initiative together.
STRIVE4YOU is proud to partner with the TN School for the Blind, the Delta Gamma Foundation, and the Nashville Predators once again to bring this amazing opportunity to TN students from across the state FREE of charge. The event will kick off on Friday December 17th from 5 PM and will run through Sunday December 19th at 3 PM. All camp activities will take place on the beautiful campus of the TN School for the Blind at 115 Stewarts Ferry Pike in Donelson TN. Due to Covid concerns unfortunately this year’s camp will not be an over night camp as it has been in the past. Instead, we have secured limited hotel space for out-of-town campers and a guardian at the Quality Suites Airport Nashville. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing partners this first come first serve lodging can be offered for FREE as well! We welcome local youth from the Nashville and surrounding counties to join us as well. A full agenda will be provided closer to time; however, campers will need to be picked up and dropped off each day. Parents are welcomed to join us at lunch on Sunday to celebrate all the weekend’s accomplishments. Oh yeah! All meals are also included, including dinner on Friday & Saturday nights, as well as lunch on Saturday & Sunday.

• Beep Kickball
• Disc Golf
• Safety Education & Self Defense classes
• Bowling
• Recreational games such as ring toss, cornhole, and horseshoes.
• Board & card games
• Healthy cooking & eating hands on classes
• Self-Advocacy workshops
• And much more!
Our STRIVE4YOU team members have all passed an extensive background check and is well trained in their respective program curriculum. Each team member has been handpicked to provide a positive mentoring experience as they all have various degrees of diverse backgrounds and life experiences. We believe strongly in the peer-to-peer approach and feel it is one of many reasons STRIVE4YOU and Camp VIVA is so unique!
