Adaptive Sports Day, Spokane WA

STRIVE4YOU, through our ARISE program, is proud to present our Adaptive Sports Day!! These engaging hands-on workshops give the participants a unique opportunity to experience one or more adaptive activity(s), first-hand, through the perspective of someone with a disability. The event provides a long-lasting educational opportunity for community members, while also serving as a fantastic opportunity for those living with a disability to introduce them to the exciting world of recreation and sports! These are excellent for someone who may have recently developed challenges or simply someone that is not aware of the opportunities out there for them to live healthier more fulfilling lives.

Strive4You is proud to partner with the Inland Empire Blind Veterans Association and the Spokane Parks & Recreation Department, through the VA National Sports Program & Special Events FY21 Adaptive Sports Grant (ASG) to provide adaptive recreation and sports opportunities to veterans with disabilities and the entire city of Spokane through our Veterans Healthy Tomorrow Initiative. On April 16, 2022, from 9 -3PM, STRIVE4YOU will be presenting several unique interactive adaptive recreation & Sports activities specifically designed for the VI/Blind. The Inland Empire Blind Veterans Association and the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, along with STRIVE4YOU, want to invite the entire community to join us for this fun filled day at the West Central Community Center, 1603 N Belt St. Break-out sessions include:

  • Beep Kickball
  • Disc Golf
  • Boccia

All activities are FREE of charge to Disabled Veterans/VA Support Team Members, and the entire day of fun is just $25 for non-veteran participants!
