Are you a passionate, driven, team-oriented and self-motivated leader eager to use your talents to empower people with low vision to live life to its fullest? We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team! Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers for STRIVE4You. We are a national organization, so volunteers for both virtual skilled positions as well as local events will require coordination. In addition, Volunteer Coordinators vet applicants, train volunteers as needed and provide proper documentation of volunteer hours.

- Possesses excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
- Possesses experience as Volunteer Coordinator or similar role
- Possesses knowledge of various recruiting methods
- Possesses some knowledge in employer branding and recruitment marketing
- Possesses working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
- BSc/BA in business administration, human resources or relevant field is a plus
- Local to our main office in Nashville is a plus but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sourcing and recruiting volunteers using different recruiting techniques including online platforms, e-mail, social media, etc.
- Drafting volunteer descriptions as needed
- Collecting information on qualifications and skills to evaluate proper placement
- Arranging for training when needed
- Assigning responsibilities as appropriate
- Coordinating teams of volunteers for large-scale events or activities as needed
- Communicating frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
- Disseminating information for upcoming activities and events
- Managing volunteer information and work records
- Evaluate volunteer’s quality work to ensure volunteers have been well placed and trained
- Preparing and presenting regular reports to the Board of Directors as requested
