Introductory Self-Defense Workshop -Murfreesboro TN
Strive4You is proud to partner with the Recreational Therapy Program of the TN Valley HCS, Nashville Campus, through the VA National Sports Program & Special Events FY20 Adaptive Sports Grant (ASG), to provide exciting opportunities to veterans with disabilities. Through our Veterans Healthy Tomorrow Initiative, STRIVE4You will be implementing Adaptive Sports Days (ASD), Professional Development Workshops (PDW), our unique SEED Intro To Self-Defense Workshops, and other exciting events across the country to hundreds of veterans, thanks to the ASG funding. The goal of the initiative is to equip veterans with proper education, resources, and especially opportunities so they can lead active and healthy lives.
The Safety Education Empowering Defense (SEED) program of STRIVE4YOU’s mission is to create a culture with safety and security for all, implementing a holistic circle of services training body, mind, and spirit. This is a nation-wide program unlike any other. SEED’s adherence to STRIVE4YOU’s peer to peer approach makes it unique. Our curriculum has been developed principally by and for people with disabilities. SEED’s goal is to teach a principled approach to recognizing, analyzing, and responding to potentially threatening situations.
Strive4You is excited to be offering a SEED Introduction To Self-Defense Workshop on June 28th from 9-3 PM at the TN Valley Healthcare Medical Center. This workshop will be held in the Rec Hall, which is in building 107, rm G12. This is at the very back of the VA.
The event is open to disabled veterans and VA staff FREE of charge. We will provide lunch, so what do you have to lose!!!
