Shreveport, LA Adaptive Sports Day
STRIVE4YOU, through our ARISE program and Healthy Veteran Healthy Tomorrow Initiative, is proud to partner with the Visual Impaired Services Team at the Overton Brooks VAMC and the VA National Sports & Special Events Program to facilitate another ARISE Adaptive Sports Day!! Adaptive Sports Days are engaging hands-on mini clinics that gives participants a unique opportunity to experience one or more adaptive activity(s), first-hand, through the perspective of someone with low vision/blindness. These events provide participants an excellent educational opportunity by introducing them to the exciting world of recreation and sports. Featured sessions during this ASD include:
- Disc Golf at Clyde Fant Memorial Disc Golf course from 9 AM – 11 AM
- Ten Pin Bowling at the Holiday Lanes in Bossier City, LA from 12:00– 3:00 Pm.
All activities are FREE of charge to Disabled Veterans/VA Support Team Members, and the entire day of fun is just $25 for non-veteran participants! Lunch is included with registration. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to play in. We hope you will join us for this community wide event as we introduce the exciting world of adaptive sports and recreation for the low vision/Blind to your community!
